Day 5: India clinch historic win at Centurion
The South African batting line up again failed against the Indian pacers in this match.
South Africa was dismissed below 200 runs in both innings due to some excellent performances by the Indian pacers.
India has now become the first Asian side to win a Test match in Centurion against South Africa.
This was India’s fourth away victory in a calendar year.

India started their year with an unbelievable and historic victory at the Gabba against Australia and now they finished their Test year with another historic victory here at Centurion.
Team India is now leading the series 1-0 and they are now the favorites to win this series.
A whole day was washed out due to rain but still, India managed to register an easy win over South Africa.
India needed only 6 wickets to complete a historic win against the Proteas and they did it quite comprehensively.
South Africa started the day requiring 211 runs to win 6 wickets in hand and the weather forecast was also with the home side as the rain was predicted in the 3rd session.
However, the peerless performance by the Indian pacers wrapped up the match quickly for their side.
The relentless performances by Bumrah and Shami rattled the Proteas batting lineup.
The runs came quickly for South Africa at the start of the day’s play.
Elgar delays the inevitable
The skipper Dean Elgar was the biggest hope for South Africa to save the match but in the 10th over of the day, Bumrah bowled an unplayable delivery to get him LBW.
Elgar can’t do much about the ball and he went back to the pavilion after scoring a solid knock of 77 runs.
Quinton de Kock then started to counter-attack by playing aggressive cricket but it was not an easy plan to execute against this Indian pace attack.
The South African hopes almost vanished after the departure of Quinton de Kock, who was bowled out by a back of the length delivery bowled by Muhammad Siraj.
After de Kock’s dismissal, the wickets started to fall quickly.
The last 5 wickets went down within 50 balls.
South Africa was bowled out on just 191 runs as they lost the match by 113 runs.
Bumrah and Shami were brilliant in the second innings as both of them picked up 3 wickets each in the second innings.
Bumrah got crucial breakthroughs for his side at crucial times.
Mohammad Shami picked up 8 wickets overall in the match.
Siraj and Ashwin also claimed two wickets in the second innings.
India registered a comfortable victory to become the first Asian while overall the 3rd side to win a Test match at Centurion against South Africa.
