Australia outplayed the Indian team in the ODI World Cup 2023 final as they defeated them by 6 wickets to lift the World Cup trophy for the 6th time. The Men in Blue, who were dominating throughout the tournament, suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final. They were unbeaten before the final with 10 out of 10 wins.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif talked about the India vs Australia ODI World Cup final clash and said that the best team didn’t win the World Cup. According to him, India were the best team in the tournament. However, Warner didn’t seem pleased with his statement and took to social media to respond to it.

“I like MK, issue is it does not matter what’s on paper. At the end of the day, you need to perform when it matters. That’s why they call it a final. That’s the day that counts and it can go either way, that’s sports. 2027 here we come.” Warner tweeted.

David Warner is not included in Australia squad for the T20I series against India

Talking about Warner, the left-handed opener was the 6th highest run-scorer in the ODI World Cup 2023. Apart from his batting brilliance, he was also outstanding with his fielding display. Whether it’s covering the outfield or taking difficult catches, Warner displayed everything.

He also rubbishes the rumour of him taking the retirement after the World Cup. However, he is not included in Australia’s squad for the 5-match T20I series against the Indian team which is set to take place on November 23 and will conclude on December 3. Mathew Wade is named as the captain of the Australian team.

On the other hand, many senior players are rested for the series due to which Surykuamr Yadav, who didn’t have a great World Cup campaign, will be seen leading the team. Suryakumar is the no. 1 ranked T20I batter, it’d be interesting to see him leading a young team.
