Global Football icons Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two living legends who dominated the sport for many years. Apart from their personal achievements or leading their teams and clubs for multiple titles, their on-field battles have been legendary, but recently, a different kind of clash took place in the realm of social media.
Argentina superstar Messi won his historic 8th Ballon d’Or win and shocked the football world, earning both admiration and banter from fans. However, what added an interesting twist to the story was Ronaldo’s unexpected reaction. He liked and commented on a post playfully trolling Messi’s latest accolade. However, he only put laughing emojis in his comment.
The post says, “Hello friends. What we knew happened, they were going to give Messi another Ballon d’Or again. He went to retire in Miami, even though he already looked like he was retired at PSG preparing for the World Cup. He won the World Cup, yes, good, but with 6 penalties… The World Cup was 10 months ago, it’s November. Messi has 8 Ballon d’Ors, he should have had 5. He has Iniesta/Xavi’s Ballon d’Or, Lewandowski’s who won 6 trophies in one season and Haaland’s who was the top scorer.” quoted by Sportskeeda.

I think it will be difficult for us to play in the same team, but obviously I would like to.
