Kerry O’Keefe and Isa Guha were in the commentary box during the match. Batting first, Adelaide Strikers had posted a huge total of 206 runs on the board. At Adelaide Oval, the wicket seemed to be good for batting. Even the chasing side was on good momentum and raced away to 92/2 towards the end of the 9th over of the match. There seemed to be no pressure for the chasing side.
When the match was happening between the two sides, the fireworks began. The commentators on the air felt it to be a premature celebration. Isa Guha on air exclaimed “They have got it early, at the Adelaide Oval. The pyrotechnics are here!” and laughed hard at the fireworks. The beautiful fireworks were good to see, and the fans online expressed their approval of the same.
‘He’s hit the wrong button’ – Kerry O’Keefe
Kerry O’Keefe who was in the comm box along with Isa Guha claimed “He’s hit the wrong button.” He further added “You gotta lose,” pointing out the fact that the home side was behind the game at that point in the game. As O’Keefe claimed so, the home side went on to lose the game. The heroics of many batters while chasing came in handy for Melbourne who won it.
The likes of Dan Lawrence, Beau Webster, and Marcus Stoinis starred in the run chase. Each of the three scored fifty while chasing the total. Towards the death overs, there was mayhem in the run chase as the bowlers of the home side missed Yorkers terribly and ended up bowling either in full length or providing full tosses. Stoinis made the best use of it and scored 55(19).
