One of Europe’s hottest attacking talents, RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku is on his way to Chelsea.

Apparently, he has signed a pre-contract agreement with Chelsea.

The Premier League club are reportedly paying RB Leipzig a price in excess of the 24-year-old’s €60million ($58.8m) release clause.

The Stamford Bridge club are desperate to move fast because the clause kicks in next summer and if they secure Nkunku ahead of time, it will avoid a price war for his services.

As per sources, Nkunku has also undergone secret medical tests ahead of a move to Graham Potter’s team in 2023-24.

In June, Nkunku signed a two-year contract with RB Leipzig that would have kept him at the club until 2026.

The 24-year-old has continued the brilliant form he showed last season. In 12 appearances, he has already scored eight goals and one assist across all competitions.

In the 2021-22 season, Nkunku scored 35 goals and registered 20 assists in 52 appearances for RB Leipzig.

The Frenchman was one of PSG’s most promising academy players, but never got the minutes he deserved, owing to array of attacking talent at the French club.

At RB Leipzig, he has blossomed into one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe.

In his first season, he scored five goals and provided 15 assists and from then on, his numbers have exploded.

With the addition of Nkunku, the Chelsea attack will acquire a new goal-scoring dimension.
