‘Chimpanjee aur bandaron se bhari hai yeh franchise’ – Fans lash out at RCB as Yuzvendra Chahal reveals ‘he wasn’t even considered to be picked’ in 2022 auction
India leggie Yuzvendra Chahal joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014. Before this, he played for Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, for the three-time finalists, Chahal played over 100 games, the most for any team in his IPL career. Last year, he moved to Rajasthan Royals during the mega auction. Notably, the Jind-born player wasn’t retained and the RCB didn’t even try to get him back.
Meanwhile, during an interview, he said that the franchise didn’t even ask him whether he wanted to be retained.
“Definitely, I felt terrible because my main journey started in 2014. I felt weird too(about not getting retained) because I played for eight years for them. I even got the India cap because of RCB as they gave me chances to perform when I arrived. In 2014, Virat Bhai displayed trust on me. I started playing from the first match. Then I feel bad because it ends up becoming a family in eight years. People speculated that I asked for an unreasonable amount of money or other things. So, I came clear in a previous interview that I didn’t ask for any money. I know what I deserve.
I feel the worst about not getting calls from RCB: Yuzvendra Chahal
The India player added that he felt worse after not being picked by the team.
“I feel worst about the fact that I did not receive any calls, nor was I told about the auction. I played around 114 matches for RCB, but I received no proper communication from them. They promised me that they’ll go all out for me. I got very angry after that, I played for them for 8 years. Chinnaswamy Stadium is my favorite ground. I didn’t even talk to the RCB coach in their first match against Rajasthan,” the 31-year-old said during a conversation with The Ranveer Show.
The 31-year-old ended up with Rajasthan Royals and played for the same team this year. Last year, he won the Purple Cap and the team reached the final.
This is how Twitter reacted
That’s the prob with RCB.. the management is poor and that’s why they didn’t win any trophy.. it’s very important to respect players .. belief in them .. they have to learn a lot from Mumbai and Chennai
