Chetan Sharma sheds light on his comments about Virat Kohli during his infamous sting operation
Former Indian chief selector Chetan Sharma has finally revealed his real feelings on Virat Kohli. Reputed Indian news channel ZEE TV conducted a sting operation where comments made by Chetan Sharma caused controversy.
One of the comments about the former India skipper Virat Kohli created a lot of hue and cry. Apart from Virat Kohli, Chetan Sharma has spoken about Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Once the sting operation took place, Chetan Sharma had to step down as the selector. Virat Kohli isn’t part of the first two Tests versus England. The Indian selectors are set to pick the team for the rest of the series. It is to be seen if Virat Kohli will be selected for the matches.

Ever since his sting report hit the airwaves, Chetan Sharma’s comment on Virat Kohli earned him massive wrath. The former Indian player sat down and spoke to News24 and spoke about his comments. Chetan Sharma said “Virat Kohli is like my son, and why would I say bad things about him? I always pray for his well-being. I hope he comes back and scores centuries to reach the 100-ton mark in international cricket.”
Rohit Sharma is currently under pressure after losing the first Test in Hyderabad. “Rohit Sharma is among the few players who sacrificed himself for the team. He led from the front, and once your openers score 80 runs in 10 overs, the rest of the batters can take the total to 300 runs” Chetan Sharma lauded the Indian skipper.
India’s skipper plans during the 2022 T20I World Cup which didn’t work out. Speaking about this Chetan Sharma said “Rohit Sharma started going after the bowlers during the T20 World Cup in 2022, but his plans didn’t succeed due to pitches and some other reasons. But he was at the top of his game in the ODI World Cup. India crushed the opponents in the event.” For the unversed, Chetan Sharma said that few players took injections to improve their performances. Fans and many of the Indian cricket fraternity lost their cool over these comments by the former Indian chief selector.
