Liverpool took a giant leap towards the Champions League quarter-finals as they returned home with a 2-0 victory from San Siro.

Inter Milan had an encouraging start to the game and could have drawn first blood, but Hakan Calhanoglu rattling the crossbar is the closest the hosts came to scoring in the first half.

Chances were few and far between for Liverpool in the first half, but the introduction of Roberto Firmino changed the dynamics of the game.

The Brazilian opened the scoring from an Andy Robertson corner.

Minutes later, Mohamed Salah punished Inter for mishandling a Trent Alexander Arnold cross and made it 2-0.

Munich salvage draw

RB Salzburg put up a valiant display against Bundesliga powerhouse Bayern Munich.

They were about to seal a historic win at the Red Bulls Arena, but a late Kingsley Coman strike forced them to stay content with a draw.

Earlier, Chukwubuike Adamu, who came on as a 12th-minute substitute after Noah Okafor went off injured, sent the ball past Sven Ulreich to put the Austrians ahead in the first half.

Bayern were close to losing their 20 match Champions League unbeaten streak on the road, but Coman fired in a 90th-minute equalizer to frustrate the home side.

Man City demolish Lisbon

Manchester City have almost booked a quarterfinal spot by beating Sporting Lisbon 5-0 at the Portuguese capital.

The Citizens raced to a 4-0 lead before the interval with Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, and Bernardo Silva getting their names on the score sheet.

Raheem Sterling extended City’s lead in the second half.

Mbappe sinks Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League ambitions got a massive boost as they snatched a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid through a Kylian Mbappe stoppage-time strike.

The Parisians had the chance to get the lead earlier, but Lionel Messi failed to convert from the spot.

Mbappe, who has been linked with a summer transfer move to Real Madrid, put on a man-of-the-match performance and terrorized the Los Blancos defence throughout.
