Hit or flop
The cost of making Brahmastra Part 1 was 410 Crores.
It will be a clean hit only If it crosses this number at the box office worldwide.
The movie was sold to Disney + Hotstar but Disney produced it only along with Dharma so the OTT price is whatever value that they want to assign to it.
In our estimate, the OTT price will be around 140 crores.
So, the remaining amount of 270 crores has to be recovered from the box office.
However, there is another angle to it.
There are 2 sequels planned to Brahmastra. If Part 1 gets a decent performance, Part 2 and Part 3 can be bigger money-spinners as it becomes a franchise.
Besides, there are commercial opportunities in merchandising and other IPs like comic books or gaming apps.
However, a lot depends on how Part 1 performs.
Let’s wait and watch!
