Bollywood star Akshay Kumar talks about negative aspects of social media

Social media as a medium has its positives and negatives. When asked about the same in an interview, Akshay Kumar said that social media has become a business in recent days. The Mission Raniganj actor claimed the users post meaningless videos which are catered to the viewers to gain likes. Akshay claimed that many people earn more than 6 lakhs to 8 lakhs from social media alone.

“Social media ek bahut bada jariya ho gaya hai jaha paise bhi milte hai. Lots of people don’t even mean what they are saying but just to start the conversation and have more likes… Aaj kitne saare log mahine ka 6 se leke 7 lakh, 8 lakh kama rahe hai? Just because of writing something, saying something, going against something. It is now become a business,” said Akshay Kumar in the interview.

Akshay further claimed that the things that go trending do not represent the feelings of the people. Akshay said that not everything that comes on social media is real. “Joh trend hota hai, it is not the real feeling of people… People feel in a different way. It is better to just keep on being in your life and work and not follow what is being written on social media. Yeah, some people say it honestly also,” added Akshay.

Mixed response to Akshay Kumar’s statement

The statement of Akshay became viral on social media. The content got big attention on Reddit, where the users had different opinions. One of the users commented, “There are two kinds of people some people really mean what they say some people are doing it because they are doing it as business.” Another user felt that Akshay answered like an Engineering student.

“Akshay answered like an engg student. Pick the common keyword from question and write everything you know about that even if the question is focusing on something else.” Another user added, “He is right though. Social media does damage one’s mental peace, so it’s better to not take it seriously,” agreeing with Akshay. Another user wrote, “Kya ye business nhi krta social media parr??.. Ye podcast bhi ek tarah ka business hai.”
