‘Bichare ko wheelchair pe b khilayege’ – Fans react as LLC CEO says MS Dhoni should play till 50 for CSK before joining League Legends
A recent meeting between MS Dhoni and the CEO of League of Legends Cricket (LLC) has sparked speculations about the former India captain’s potential participation in the tournament. Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020 and now plays only in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Although there were rumours that IPL 2023 would be his last dance in the yellow jersey, the 42-year-old is almost confirmed to play in the upcoming season as well.
After leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five-time glory, Dhoni had said after the final that it was the best time to announce his retirement. However, the legendary cricketer is expected to play one more season for his lovely fans. While IPL 2024 seems likely to be Dhoni’s last dance, millions of fans don’t want him to hang up his boots. LLC CEO Raman Raheja is also one such fan who wishes to see a few more years Dhoni playing for CSK.
Raheja said Dhoni should play till 50 and then join Legends League Cricket. This is what every Dhoni fan wants to see, but considering his fitness and age, Dhoni may bid adieu to IPL as a player after the 2024 edition. Last season he struggled with his knee and had to undergo surgery. Moreover, in a recent reel that went viral on social media, the wicketkeeper batter can be seen limping while descending the stairs.

We came to Ranchi on a mission: LLC CEO
After meeting Dhoni in Ranchi, Raheja shared pictures of the moment on his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle.
“Good start is half the battle won. We @llct20 came to Ranchi on a mission. Not just won hearts of thousands of fans but met the “Legend” in his town. Just Honoured!! It’s time to scale up and move ahead. #LegendsLeagueCricket #msdhoni.”

Meanwhile, before the start of the 2023 LLC tournament in Doha in March this year, Raheja had said that he would want Dhoni to be part of the league in the near future.
“My future plan is to position this as a second innings for players. And I would love to have MS Dhoni come and play sometime. Or may, all we know, five years later we have a Kohli vs Rohit take place,” he had said.
Here’s how fans reacted to the LLC CEO’s remark:
