India batter Rinku Singh showcased his heroics in the inaugural edition of the Uttar Pradesh Premier League 2023. In the last few months, he has been doing well in white-ball cricket starting from IPL 2023. Singh gained a lot of fans after hitting five back-to-back sixes against Gujarat Titans. The left-hander amassed close to 500 runs in the season.

However, the UP player missed out on the team selection for the West Indies tour but was included against Ireland. The Kolkata Knight Riders player made his international debut in the Ireland series and helped the team win the second T20I. After the series, Singh is playing the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Premier League for Meerut Mavericks. In the game between Mavericks and Kashi Rudras, the former Punjab Kings player smashed three sixes in the Super Over.

This helped the team chase down 17 runs in just four balls as he played a dot ball on the first ball of the over. The over was bowled by Shiva Singh. Rudras amassed 16/1 in the Super Over.

Rinku Singh struggled in the main game

Talking about the game, Rudras batted first and amassed 181/7. For the team, Karn Sharma, the Royal Challengers Bangalore player in the IPL, opened the batting and scored 58. Apart from this, Shivam Bansal (57) also scored a fifty while Ankur Malik (28*) and Mohammad Sharim (16*) helped the team reach the total.

In reply, Meerut had a poor start as they lost two wickets for 41 runs. Madhav Kaushik and Singh put together 54 runs for the third wicket. The latter could only manage 15 runs in 22 balls including a six. On the other hand, Kaushik stayed unbeaten for 87 runs off 52 balls including nine fours and four sixes. Uvaish Ahmad (17) and Divyansh Joshi (17) played cameos and managed to tie the game. However, Singh, who struggled in the main game, managed to redeem himself when it mattered the most.
