Perth Scorchers were 4 down for just 25 runs at the end of 6 overs but Turner and Evans scored a match-changing partnership to put up a fighting total on the board in the all-important final match.

On the other hand, while chasing 172 runs, Sydney Sixers failed badly with the bat and they were bowled out for just 92 runs.

Sadly, their dream of completing a hat-trick of BBL trophies was broken after this defeat.

The hot favorites Perth Scorchers registered a comfortable victory of 79 runs to win their record 4th BBL Title.

The depleted Sydney Sixer was bowled out on just 92 runs in the Final match and they failed to win their 3rd consecutive BBL trophy.

Laurie Evans was rewarded the Player of the match award for his superb batting performance in the Final match.

The great start from Sydney bowlers

The Sixer’s bowlers gave an ideal start to their side by picking up 4 wickets in the powerplay.

Bird get rid of Petersen in the second over while Steve O’Keefe stumped out Josh Inglis for 13 runs.

Nathan Lyon then further jolted the Scorchers batting lineup by picking up two important wickets of Marsh and Munro in the last over of powerplay.

Scorchers were struggling on 25 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. 

Evans and Turner match-changing partnership

Laurie Evans and Turner rescued their side by putting up a match-winning partnership of 104 runs for the 5th wicket.

They played aggressive cricket to reduce the pressure on their team.

Evans and Turner completed their half-centuries.

Turner got caught out at short third-man after playing an important knock of 54 runs off just 35 balls. 

The dismissal of Turner didn’t stop the aggressive batting of Evans as he continued to smash the bowling lineup for some quick runs.

Evans remained unbeaten on 76 runs off just 41 balls including 4 fours and 4 sixes.

The half-centuries from Evans and Turner allowed the Scorchers to put 171 runs on the board.

Nathan Lyon and Steve O’Keefe picked up 2 wickets each from their spells. 

Sydney Sixer’s lost the hero of their last match, Hayden Kerr, for just 2 runs in the 2nd over.

Ashton Turner dismissed Nicholas Bertus to get rid of him early in the innings.

The hopes of Sixer’s almost ended after the departure of their skipper Moises Henriques who was given LBW out at the score of just 7 runs. 

Tye picked a 3 wickets

Andrew Tye had a great BBL season as he performed very well with the ball.

Tye played a big part in the destruction of Sydney’s batting line-up by picking up 3 important wickets and conceding only 15 runs from his spell.
