‘Bas 10 wickets na leke jaye’ – Fans react as Sri Lanka loses all 6 wickets to Noman Ali before 2nd session on Day 4 of 2nd Test vs Pakistan

On 27 July 2023, the stage was set in Colombo for day four of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Men in Green finished day three with a score of 563 runs for five wickets in 132 overs. In the first session of day four, they added just 13 runs and declared their first innings with a massive score of 576 runs for five wickets in 134 overs.  

Thus, the team took a massive lead of 410 runs. In reply, the Lankan batters came up but failed miserably. By the end of two sessions, they lost six wickets for 143 runs in 53 overs. But, interestingly, the Pakistan spinner, Noman Ali grabbed all those six wickets. Seeing such a dominating performance, fans shared their views on social media.

Speaking of the match, Sri Lanka skipper, Noman Ali won the toss and opted to bat first. But, that decision did not go well with the team as they got bundled out for just 166 runs in 48.4 overs of their first innings. With the ball, Abrar Ahmed took four wickets along with Naseem Shah’s three wickets and Shaheen Shah Afridi’s one. Unfortunately, Noman failed to add a single wicket to his tally. 

In reply, Babar Azam and his men batted for 134 overs and declared their first innings after scoring 576 runs for five wickets in 134 overs. Abdullah Shafique scored a double century along with Agha Salman’s unbeaten 132-run knock and fifties from Saud Shakeel, Shan Masood, and Mohammad Rizwan. Thus, Sri Lanka came out to bat with an aim to cover up the massive lead first. But, as of now, they have failed as after 57 overs, the Lankans have scored 154 runs for six wickets. Noman Ali managed to grab all those wickets and left all fans stunned all around the globe. Angelo Mathews and Ramesh Mendis were on the crease, fighting hard to survive the remaining day.
