Australian coach Andrew McDonald makes massive statement on Glenn Maxwell
Glenn Maxwell was recently in the news for getting admitted to hospital after having a few drinks. The 35-year-old is expected to be back for the T20I series against West Indies. The World Cup winner has been rested for the ODI series to be led by Steve Smith.
Andrew McDonald the Australian coach has sounded out a huge warning to Glenn Maxwell. According to the current coach, Glenn Maxwell has been given a fair warning. This is the last warning to the veteran player.
Over the weekend, Glenn Maxwell attended a concert consisting of former Australian player Brett Lee. After the event, Glenn Maxwell was taken to the hospital after getting drunk and was discharged later. The 35-year-old had given up on his Melbourne Stars captaincy at the end of the BBL 2023 season.
Andrew McDonald gives warning to Glenn Maxwell –
Australia’s coach Andrew McDonald sat down with the leading newspaper Sydney Evening News. “I’ve spoken to Glenn Maxwell and had a good chat with him yesterday around the incident. His looking after himself needs to be a consideration moving forward. We’ve allowed him to rest and rehab in that period and I suppose the lessons for him around that would be to take up his end of the bargain in that space and take care of himself.”
While speaking about the future, Andrew McDonald also said “We want to see Glenn Maxwell playing cricket for the next three to four years for Australia. Can he get to the next World Cup in 2027 in South Africa? Who knows. But, he’s a key player in our white-ball formats”

At the end of the conversation, Andrew McDonald gave out a stern warning “He needs to have a look at what he’s doing at his end and is that the right thing to be doing at that time? Thankfully, there’s no harm out of it. He’s well now”
