Asia Cup: Shahnawaz Dahani injured, won’t play against India

India are currently top of the table with two wins in two matches and four points.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is at the second position with one win in two matches and two points.

The men in green Pakistan sealed their Super Four spot after clash after beating Hong Kong by 155 runs.

Sadly, for Pakistan, they have been hit by a major injury setback prior to today’s key match against India.

Fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out picking up a suspected side strain injury in the match against Hong Kong on Friday.

The Pakistan team spokesperson has said that Dahani’s condition will monitored for 48-72 hours before deciding on his further participation in Asia Cup 2022.

Hasan Ali or Mohammad Hasnain will take Dahani’s place in the team.

Pakistan has been hit by a succession of injuries to its pacers in the past 2 weeks.

Their premier fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was ruled out due to a knee injury even before the tournament started.

A few days later, fast bowling all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jnr was declared unfit for the tournament due to a side strain.

Even India has been hit by a spate of fitness issues.

Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the remainder of the Asia Cup 2022 after an injury to his right knee.

Also, as per latest reports, Avesh Khan is unlikely to play as he has been struck with viral fever.

Apparently, he has not left his hotel room for nearly two days.
