Ashes second Test: Preview

Australia will now face England in the 2nd Test of the Ashes.

It’s a magnificent Test as it will be played at night under the lights with a pink ball.

Australia has a brilliant record in day and night Tests as they are undefeated in the 8 Test matches they have played so far.

They made a great start in the Ashes series with a convincing performance, winning the match with a 9-wicket win to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

The addition of David Warner in the 2nd match was not confirmed because of an injury but now according to some reliable sources, Warner is totally fit and he will take the field in the 2nd match.

England’s horrible performance on the Australian soil continued as they failed to tackle the seam and swing of the pitch, and gave Australia a comfortable win.

Although David Malan and Joe Root played brilliantly and showed some good resistance in the 2nd innings but that wasn’t enough for England to save the match.

The two most senior bowlers, James Anderson and Stuart Broad are expected to be back after missing the opening game of the series.

Meanwhile, Steve Smith is just 188 runs away from completing 3,000 Test runs against England.

He averages 63.90 in the 28 Tests, he played against England so far in his career 

The English skipper, Joe Root has struggled many times against Josh Hazlewood in recent times.

It is going to be a big relief for the English skipper as Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the 2nd Test of Ashes.

On the other hand, while captaining the Australian side for the first time, Pat Cummins had a dream match in the 1st Test.

He dismissed 7 batters of the opposition side including a brilliant 5-wicket haul in the 1st innings.

Pitch Report

The surface is expected to help the fast bowlers.

The batters from both sides can assume a lot of sweet chin music here.

Patience and calmness will be the key factors to survive on a pitch like this wicket but the batters can still get a lot of opportunities to score runs provided they survive the tough period with the pink ball.

The surface of the pitch may break up towards the end of the match due to a lot of sunshine and the temperature can rise over 37 degrees.
