The Indian Cricket Board announced the much-awaited India squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Australia. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced 2 different squads for the first 2 matches and the 3rd match of the series. However, the announcement included some shocking selections as India’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin marked his return to the squad.

The series will serve as a warmup for both nations as they are gearing up for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 which will hosted by India, starting on October 5. The opening match of the tournament will be played between the 2019 ODI World Cup finalists England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India to rest key players in the first 2 matches of the series

India recently won the Asia Cup 2023 with a dominating 10-wicket win over the Sri Lanka team in the final. India’s current form is surely a big concern for the Kangaroos as they recently lost a 5-match ODI series against South Africa. However, the senior players will be back for the 3rd and final match of the series. The players who will be rested in the first 2 matches are Rohit, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya.
