Arshdeep gets brutally trolled after India loses to Pakistan

Arshdeep Singh has been one of the bright spots of India’s bowling attack in the past 6 months.

His consistency and death bowling skills have made him a certainty for the T20 World Cup.

However, things can change in a jiffy in the world of cricket.

Many fans started trolling him after India lost to Pakistan in the Super Four match on Sunday.

They held him responsible for the loss and even went on to abuse him and his family on various social media platforms.

Some of them went overboard terming Arshdeep as ‘Khalistani’ and ‘Gaddar’ (Traitor).

What was his crime?

Well, he dropped a catch in the 18th over, giving a reprieve to Asif Ali, who at that point in time had not even opened his account.

Eventually Asif Ali’s massive sixes decided the match.

Arshdeep, who bowled the final over conceded 27 runs from his 3.5 overs, had the best economy rate among Indian bowlers, barring Ravi Bishnoi.

So this criticism is really not justified in any way.

Besides, Pakistan rode their luck to plunder 19 runs in the 19th over that turned the tables in their favour.

When Arshdeep came on to bowl the final over, only seven runs were required and the game was pretty much over.

However, many former Indian cricketer like Harbhajan Singh also came out in support of the young left-arm pacer.

Even cricket fans tweeted their support.

Here are some examples.

Arshdeep being called Khalistani just becoz he dropped a catch in today’s match. Now imagine if the catch was dropped by Awesh Khan.

23 year old Arshdeep Singh is being labelled as a Khalistani just because he dropped a catch. Check his numbers, he had a better outing than all others. He is a superstar and the country is proud of him. #IStandWithArshdeep
