Ambati Rayudu, the former Indian cricketer, made a recent appearance on the popular YouTube talk show ‘The Ranveer Show,’ hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia. During the interview, Rayudu shared anecdotes from his cricketing career, highlighting his experiences in international cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Despite facing challenges in international cricket, Rayudu has enjoyed considerable success in the IPL, particularly with two prominent franchises. His journey began in 2010 when he was picked up by the Mumbai Indians (MI). Rayudu played a pivotal role in MI’s triumphs in 2013, 2015, and 2017, contributing to three IPL title victories. Reflecting on his time with MI, Rayudu fondly recalled his initiation into the IPL with the franchise and the significant eight years he spent representing them.

“Of course, I played eight years for them. I started my IPL career with Mumbai. It was a great journey, and we won three IPLs and two Champions League trophies. We had great times,” Rayudu was quoted as saying by The Hans India.

However, MI let him go, and in 2018, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scooped him up. In that season, he delivered an impressive performance, smashing 602 runs in 16 matches, leaving the MI management pondering their decision. Rayudu expressed the significance of joining CSK, especially under the leadership of the legendary former Indian captain, MS Dhoni. He said wearing yellow pads in a different dressing room, facing Mumbai triggered memories. Eventually, adapting to CSK became second nature.

“Going to CSK was even more special, but it was very weird to sit in another dressing room, put on yellow pads instead of blue, and face Mumbai, who was practicing just two wickets away from me. It was like a whole flashback going on in my head, recalling what we used to do every day. From then on, yeah, I got used to being in CSK,” he said.
