After failing multiple times at the box office with his recent movies, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is back with the sequel of the superhit OMG. The teaser of OMG 2 was also released by the producers on Tuesday, July 11. Fans loved the teaser and gave positive responses to it.

Meanwhile, the movie is set to release on August 11, however, it is now being reported that the release date of the movie might be extended as the Censon Board has put a hold on the release of the movie. It is also reported that the committee has sent the movie to the Revision Committee as there shouldn’t be anything which can hurt people’s religious sentiment which was the case with the recently released Adipurush.

Akshay played the role of ‘Lord Krishna’ in the first part of the movie, on the other hand, he will be playing the role of ‘Lord Shiva’ in the second edition of the much-awaited movie. The FWICE president B.N. Tiwari revealed that the movie is now on hold and there might be some possibility of getting some scenes cut.

“Censor Board has put OMG 2 on hold and will be further reviewed by the committee. He also added that the censor board has also put a stop to the teaser of Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi’s OMG 2 for now. The censor board sent the film to the review committee,” he said.

Akshay’s upcoming big projects

The film was co-produced by Akshay’s Cape of Good Films and Viacom18 Studios. In the sequel, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi portray new characters. Arun Govil, who earlier played Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s television series Ramayan, will also play Lord Ram. What the position will entail, though, is still unknown.

However, it’d be interesting to see when will the movie get the green signal from the censor board. Meanwhile, talking about Akshay, he is also making headlines for his much-awaited action-comedy movie in which he will be seen with the young action hero Tiger Shroff in the movie named, Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan.
