Adam Milne to skip India & Pakistan tour

The 30-year-old Kiwi pacer Adam Milne has decided to pull out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan and India.

NZC has named 29-year-old Blair Tickner as the replacement for Milne in the ODI squad for the upcoming series.

At the end of the home series against the India in November 2022, the right-arm pacer Adam Milne had some tightness in his hamstring.

As a result, he missed two matches for Wellington Firebirds in the Ford Trophy, which is a 50-over domestic competition in New Zealand.

He did feature in the first two games of the Super Smash, which is a T20 domestic competition in New Zealand, for Wellington Firebirds.

However, the prospect of 6 One Day Internationals across India and Pakistan in 16 days was considered too much of a risk.

New Zealand National Cricket Team chief selector Gavin Larsen said, “Adam was very upfront with us about his concerns around the lack of one-day bowling loading for the upcoming tours.”

“After chatting to him, we agreed his preparation leading into the tour wouldn’t be sufficient for him to cope with the demands of back-to-back, three-game ODI series.”

This is definitely a big blow for New Zealand.

Milne is a right-arm fast bowler known for his pace and accuracy.

He was born on April 13, 1992 in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Milne quickly rose through the ranks of junior cricket in New Zealand and in 2010, was selected to play for the Central Districts in New Zealand’s domestic cricket competition.

The following year he made his debut for the New Zealand cricket team.

In his early years as a professional cricketer, Milne quickly established himself as a talented fast bowler.

He made an impressive debut for the New Zealand team in 2011, taking 3 wickets in his first match against South Africa.

He has been a regular member of the team in both limited-overs and Twenty20 formats since then.

The first Test between New Zealand and Pakistan ended in a draw.

The second Test will be played from January 2 in Karachi.

After that, the teams will be involved in a three-match ODI series on January 9, 11 and 13.

After the conclusion of the Pakistan tour, New Zealand will travel to India for a three-match ODI and a three-match T20I series.

The ODIs will be played on January 18, 21 and 24 in Hyderabad, Raipur and Indore respectively.

While, the T20Is will be played on January 27, 29 and February 1 in Ranchi, Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively.
