While speaking with presenter Hope, she namedropped former India skipper MS Dhoni and revealed how he inspired him to play big knocks.

“A very, very famous person, MS Dhoni—we had a chat a while ago, and he was saying, ‘You always have a lot more time than you think,'” Player of the Match Hope said during the post-match presentation. “That’s one thing that has stuck with me throughout the years I’ve been playing ODI cricket,” he further added.

Shai Hope thrashed Sam Curran to get the victory

Facing the challenging task of scoring 19 runs from 12 balls during a pursuit of 326, Hope showcased his prowess by targeting Sam Curran, smashing three sixes in the penultimate over to secure victory. In the process, he not only steered his team to success but also achieved his 16th ODI century, a stellar accomplishment achieved in just 83 balls, marking a new personal best.
