AB de Villiers tries to fix his mistake regarding Virat Kohli’s decision to take leave from India vs England series

Ab De Villiers has surprised the fans with his latest statement on Virat Kohli. The former South African batter claimed to have shared ‘False information’ regarding Virat’s decision to take leave during the series against England. In his YouTube channel, De Villiers had earlier stated that Virat and Anushka were due to become parents for the second time. 

The former RCB teammate of Virat had claimed to not judge the star cricketer on his decision to take leave. De Villiers felt that Kohli had made the right decision in taking some time off from cricket. After that, De Villiers faced a lot of backlash from the fans who asked him to not share the information about Virat’s private life, as per the request of the Indian batter himself.

In the latest interview, De Villiers apologized to everyone for sharing the news of Virat and Anushka’s parenthood and felt he made a terrible mistake. The former RCB batter then added that it was wrong on his part to share false information. “Family comes first, it’s priority, as I said on my YouTube show. I also made a terrible mistake at the same time – Sharing false information, which was not true at all,” said De Villiers.

Ab De Villiers added that family comes first for everyone. He added that no one knows what is happening with Virat now for him to take a leave for a long time. He claimed that the reason behind Virat taking leave would be something big. The former skipper of South Africa then wished Virat to return as a stronger and healthier version of himself.  

“Must just wish him well and whatever the reason is for this break, really hope that he comes back stronger and better and healthier and fresh and ready to take on the world again,” added De Villiers in his statement. Virat is set to miss the third and fourth Tests against England which are set to take place at Rajkot and Ranchi respectively.
