He added that Umran was picked against West Indies and thought the youngster would also be in the World Cup squad. He mentioned the sadness while speaking about the absence of Umran in any of the squad in recent times. Aakash added that Umran has not been selected in India A as well.

“Till some time back, Umran Malik was everywhere. We took him to the West Indies as well and it seemed like he could be in the World Cup team too but now he is not there in any of the teams. He doesn’t even get selected for India A,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel. Chopra added that he does not know what transpired behind the scenes that the youngster has not been picked in the last 3 months.

‘We don’t even know where Umran Malik is’ – Aakash Chopra

Aaksh felt sad for the youngster and added that he is not visible in any of the squad of India. “What happened within three months that a guy first gets selected for the Indian team, gets very minimum chances there, and then goes totally missing? We don’t even know where Umran Malik is. Why isn’t he there? We should know why this is happening,” added Chopra who asked for the reason behind the same.

India will be up against Afghanistan in its next assignment. Umran has not been picked for the series. In fact, the express pacer from Jammu and Kashmir was not picked even for the series against South Africa and Australia. Umran is one of his kind as not many bowlers can operate at the pace he does from India.
