The franchises seemed to have come up with plans to buy such players that performed in the leagues like UP T20 League, Karnataka Premier League, Tamil Nadu Premier League, and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Many of the young players performed very well in such tournaments and attracted the owners in the IPL mini auction 2024. WK batters and pace bowlers were in huge demand. Even the finishers were sought after. It was pretty obvious given the supply of such players was not high.

Yash Dayal was sold for a huge amount of INR 5 crores. RCB trusted in him despite not having a great season with the ball in the IPL 2023 for GT. In his first season as a player, Dayal was impressive for GT in the IPL 2022. In the season, he emerged as a good wicket taking option for GT and helped them to win the title in their maiden attempt. Dayal was one of the players to watch out for from the 15th edition of the league.

But things went downhill for him soon, as he lost his form. In the IPL 2023, Rinku Singh hit 5 sixes in 5 consecutive balls against the young player and gave a huge dent on his confidence. After that, Dayal was no more a regular in the playing XI and was replaced by Mohit Sharma, who actually turned out to be a brilliant option for Gujarat Titans. In the IPL 2024, RCB would be relying on the left-arm pacer to deliver the goods.

As it did not work out, RR went for a middle order batter in the auction after trading Padikkal to LSG.

In the auction, RR went behind the middle order batters and got Rovman Powell. But they probably needed an Indian batter to fill the role. RR got the batter from Vidarbha to perform the job. In Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, Dubey performed well and impressed everyone. RR got him after a long bid war with several teams. It is to be seen if the youngster would be able to get some matches to play for RR in the IPL 2024.

It helped him to bag a huge deal in the IPL auction 2024, DC being a franchise known to go behind the younger players got yet another young batter in their squad, who can be a player for future.
