The mega auction of IPL 2022 has successfully started and it will continue for 2 days.

The franchises have added some big names to their squads on day 1 of the auction so far.

There were a lot of intense battles between the franchise during the bid for their favorite players but they also had to keep an eye on their purse.

So, we are providing you with the list of the top 5 most expensive players on day 1 of the IPL auction 2022.

Ishan Kishan

Mumbai Indians were engaged in an extreme bidding war to bring back the wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan, who was part of the Mumbai Indians in the last few seasons.

Mumbai succeeded in the end as they bought him for a huge amount of 15.25 crores.

Ishan Kishan became the 2nd most expensive Indian buy in IPL history.

The former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh still holds the record of most expensive Indian buy in IPL history as he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils franchise which is currently known as Delhi Capitals for Rs 16 Crore.

The young left-handed batter became famous after his brilliant performance in the last couple of seasons and he is also a part of the white ball team of India.

Ishan Kishan will now most probably bat alongside Rohit Sharma at the opening slot for Mumbai Indians.

Deepak Chahar

All-rounder Deepak Chahar made a huge buzz as he was bought for Rs 14 Crores in the auction by his former team Chennai Super Kings.

He was sold out for only Rs 80 lakh in the 2018 season but the Indian pacer became the second most expensive buy at the 2022 auction.

He has performed really well in the past 12 months for the Indian team.

He has proved himself as an all-rounder and played some crucial knocks for India that justify his price.

Shreyas Iyer

The talented middle-order batsman and former skipper of Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer was sold out for 12.25 Crores to Kolkata Knight Riders.

It was expected that Iyer will be one of the most expensive purchases of this auction due to his strong impact in the middle order.

He is also a huge candidate for becoming the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders this season because of his leadership abilities.

Shreyas Iyer was the 1st player to cross the Rs 10 Crore mark in the auction today and he ended as the 3rd most expensive buy on the 1st day of the mega auction.

Shardul Thakur

The base price of Shardul Thakur was Rs 2 Crores but he was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 10.75 Crores.

He has been a permanent part of team India in recent times.

Due to his all round and wicket-taking ability, Thakur is a great pick for Delhi Capitals.

He is quite handy with the bat too and can score quick runs in the death overs.

Harshal Patel

Royal Challengers Bangalore once again bought Harshal Patel in their squad for a huge price of Rs 10.75 Crores.

He was sold out for just Rs 20 lakhs in IPL 2021 auction but after his brilliant performance in the last season and in domestic cricket, the same team RCB has purchased him for 10.75 Crore which is quite remarkable.

Harshal Patel was also the leading wicket-taker of last season with 32 wickets.

The West Indian batter Nicholas Pooran and the star Sri Lankan all-rounder, Wanindu Hasaranga were also sold out for Rs 10.75 Crores.

They were picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.
