4th T20 Prediction: India vs West Indies

Published

on

India will clash with West Indies in the 4th T20I of the 5 match series at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.

This is an attempt to popularise the game in the United States and take it to a new audience.

However, until a day after the 3rd T20, it wasn’t confirmed whether or not the teams would be able to fly out to the USA.

That’s because, several members of the Indian contingent hadn’t been granted US visas.

However, thanks to the efforts of the Guyanese government, the visas have finally come through and the 4th and 5th T20Is will be on schedule.

Team news

In the 3rd T20I, captain Rohit Sharma had to walk off the field after being affected by back spasms.

He didn’t take part in the rest of the match and went for medical scans.

The good news is, Rohit Sharma is back to full fitness and will take part in the remaining two T20Is.

Avesh Khan is struggling for consistency and Harshal Patel might take his place. Harshal had missed the first three T20Is due to a rib injury.

India rested Ravindra Jadeja in the 3rd T20 and brought in Deepak Hooda.

However, Hooda bowled just one over and then did not get to bat too.

Despite this, Hooda might feature in the team again as he is seen as a possible prospect for the T20 World Cup.

Arshdeep Singh has been impressive in every match and will continue to make the team.

Coach Dravid is grooming Arshdeep to be a death ball specialist, by developing his wide yorkers and hence, will continue to invest in him.

With Harshal, Arshdeep Singh, and Bhuvi in the ranks, Indai will have the finest death bowling department in the world.

Suryakumar Yadav was promoted to open the batting and he delivered brilliantly with 76 off just 44 deliveries.

Surya has climbed to the second spot in the T20 International batting rankings and looks like a certainty for the reminder of the series.

Even though Shreyas Iyer has been in poor form in the T20Is, India might give him a couple of more chances.

Under Dravid, players are not dumped after a couple of bad performances and are given a long rope.

This will help Shreyas Iyer regain his form.

Deepak Hooda and Dinesh Karthik will be the main finishers and Ravichandran Ashwin will  lead the spin attack.

West Indies brought in Dominic Drakes in place of Odean Smith in the 3rd T20 and will give him another chance.

If Rohit doesn’t play

Even if Rohit recovers, India might decide not to risk playing him shouldn’t risk as the current T20I series is not that important, in the overall scheme of things.

A fit Rohit would be needed for the Asia Cup 2022.

If Rohit doesn’t play, Ishan Kishan might take his place.

in Rohit’s absence, Hardik Pandya will captain the Indian team.

For the middle-order, India should play the same trio of Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Hardik Pandya.

Who will win

T20 matches are hard to predict.

An India West Indies T20I is always unpredictable as both teams have brittle batting line-ups that are over-reliant on a couple of batters.

Our prediction is that West Indies will win and set up a mouth-watering finale in the 5th T20I.
