3rd ODI: Proteas blank out India
Deepak Chahar almost steal the victory from the hands of South Africa with his excellent batting but the Proteas bowlers held their nerves to bowl out India on 283 runs to win the match by 4 runs.

South Africa has completed their clean sweep over India in the 3 match ODI series.
This was a perfectly done job by South Africa as they won both the Test and ODI series against India.
The former skipper, Quinton de Kock was the star with the bat as he scored a magnificent century and he was well supported by the in-form Rassie van der Dussen who scored a half-century today.
South Africa scored 287 runs from their 50 overs due to the huge collapse they faced in the last part of the innings.
Dhawan, Kohli fire
Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli scored brilliant half-centuries to set up the chase for team India but neither of these two managed to convert his fifty into a hundred.
India middle-order also collapsed a bit but the No. 7 batter Deepak Chahar played an unbelievable knock to drag India back into the game from nowhere.
Deepak Chahar thrashed 54 runs off just 34 balls but the South African pacers held their nerve and closed out the match by picking up the last 3 wickets for just 5 runs to register a 3-0 series win.
KL Rahul fails
India lost their skipper KL Rahul early in their chase but Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli had an excellent partnership for the 2nd wicket to put their side in a commanding position.
The 98 runs stand for the second wicket ended with the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan who scored 61 runs before getting caught out by the wicketkeeper.
Rishabh Pant also departed on the very first ball for a duck to bring South Africa back into the match.
Virat Kohli played a superb knock of 65 runs to complete his 6th half-century in the last 8 games but he failed to convert his 50 into a hundred.
The wait for Kohli’s ton continues.
Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav also got out after getting good starts and India was 7 down on just 223 runs at one stage.
Deepak Chahar’s heroics
Deepak Chahar just flipped the script of the match by playing an outstanding knock under pressure when India was struggling on 223 for 7.
Chahar scored his 2nd consecutive half-century of ODI cricket to drag the score from 223-7 to 278-7.
When India was requiring just 10 runs from 17 balls, he got out after scoring 54 runs off 34 balls (5 fours and 2 sixes).
The last 3 batters failed to score those 10 runs as India lost their last 3 wickets for just 5 runs.
De Kock’s ton and van der Dussen’s half-century
Earlier in the South African innings, Quinton de Kock played a brilliant inning to score his 17th ODI hundred.
De Kock loves to bat against India and this was his 6th century against India in the one-day internationals.
He got out on 124 runs after sharing a match-winning partnership of 144 runs for the 4th wicket with Rassie van der Dussen who has also scored 52 runs today.
Both De Kock and van der Dussen scored have scored a single half-century and a hundred in this series but the Player of the Series award was given to Quinton de Kock for his splendid batting performance.
The huge Collapse
After that superb partnership between de Kock and van der Dussen, South Africa collapsed badly in the last part of the innings as India managed to restrict the Proteas for just 287 runs.
South Africa lost their last 7 wickets for just 73 runs.
Prasidh Krishna picked up 3 wickets while Bumrah and Chahar claimed two wickets each.
South Africa was looking to reach 340 plus runs at one stage when they were 3 down on 214 runs on 35 overs but they got all-out on 287 after that collapse.
