In Tests, he has become the number-one ranked bowler for the first time in his career. As a result, the 30-year-old has become the first-ever bowler in the history of the sport to achieve the ranking of number one across all three formats. It is a sensational feat indeed. Among the batters, Virat Kohli became the first player to achieve the feat in the past. 

To achieve the feat despite being prone to injuries makes Bumrah such a gold-standard bowler in world cricket. Reports claim that the star bowler could be rested for the third Test against England at Rajkot. It would be a huge relief for the visiting side considering how much the unorthodox pacer has troubled the batters.
