Jasprit Bumrah has become the number-one ranked bowler in Test cricket. After the great performance in the Vizag Test, the star bowler became the number one ranked bowler in the longest format of the game. As a result, he has set a new record in Cricket to become the first ever bowler to be ranked number one in world rankings at least once in his career.

Bumrah had a brilliant outing against England at Vizag. The right-arm pacer claimed 6/45 in the first innings with some brilliant deliveries. His wickets against the likes of Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Ben Stokes were a thing of beauty. He was economical and took wickets at a quick rate as well. On a wicket that did not have much for the pacers, Bumrah dominated the proceedings.

In the 2nd innings, Jasprit bowled for 3/46 and got the important wickets. In the process, the star pacer claimed nine wickets in the match and was a well-deserved candidate to win the Player of the Match Award. The latest rankings show Bumrah has become the number one ranked bowler in the world in the longest format of the game.

Jasprit Bumrah scripts history in World Rankings

In Tests, he has become the number-one ranked bowler for the first time in his career. As a result, the 30-year-old has become the first-ever bowler in the history of the sport to achieve the ranking of number one across all three formats. It is a sensational feat indeed. Among the batters, Virat Kohli became the first player to achieve the feat in the past.

To achieve the feat despite being prone to injuries makes Bumrah such a gold-standard bowler in world cricket. Reports claim that the star bowler could be rested for the third Test against England at Rajkot. It would be a huge relief for the visiting side considering how much the unorthodox pacer has troubled the batters. It is interesting to see who would replace Bumrah in the XI in case he gets rested.
