23 months after being trolled, Mohammed Shami finally goes through hair transplant ahead of Asia Cup 2023

India pacer Mohammed Shami has gone through a hair transplant. In the last few years, he was slowly and gradually losing his hair. At a very young age, Shami started losing his hair although he has been busy reaching different heights for India at the highest level. Ahead of his 33rd birthday on September 3, the right-arm pacer has opted for a hair transplant.

Over the years, former cricketers such as Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, MS Dhoni, etc. have gone through the same. The likes of Ganguly and Dhoni were losing their hair because of the captaincy pressure. Not to forget, the latter used to have long hair during the early days of his international career. Gambhir was losing his hair due to match stress. They all have now gone through the transplant and have had the desired results.

In the video posted by the clinic that performed their transplant on the India pacer. he praised the staff for their services.

“Overall, I felt really good because treatment is one thing, but the behaviour of the staff and the treatment process – everything was very good and all of them were very supportive. Now, let’s observe what happens,” remarked Shami in a video posted by the clinic after the procedure.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old is making his comeback after the World Test Championship final in 2023. He was rested for the all-format series in the Caribbean and T20Is in Ireland. The Gujarat Titans player has been named in the Asia Cup 2023 squad.

India will begin their campaign against arch-rivals, Pakistan on September 2. With debutants, Nepal slotted with India and Pakistan, the Asian Giants are expected to qualify for the Super Four round.
