The top cricket teams in the world will soon face off to become the world champions because the ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on October 5. Given that India is the event’s sole host for the first time, Pakistan is likely to experience a tense atmosphere considering the iconic rivalry between the two teams.

We all are aware of the rivalry between India and Pakistan and it is quite obvious that the Men in Green may have to face some fervent Indian support when they visit the host nation to compete in the forthcoming World Cup 2023. But Pakistan’s star allrounder Shadab Khan believes that his team would be able to manage the pressure from the Indian spectators during the mega event and that it would take a lot of determination to overcome their lack of support.

“We won’t have the crowd support in India. In that sense, we’ll have to be very strong mentally. The way our players are, mentally strong, I think we’ll have a good tournament. Winning the World Cup in India will be like the icing on the cake… Definitely, whichever team comes will come to win the tournament, but the key is how you as a team play and how you start because we will have to play against every team; it’s a great opportunity for all the teams,” Shadab was quoted as saying by India Today.

Multiple matches between India and Pakistan

On October 5, England and New Zealand will square off in the opening match of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, on October 14, the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan will take place at the same location.

Apart from that, the Asia Cup 2023, which will start on August 30, will feature matches between India and Pakistan before the World Cup. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are sharing hosting duties for the competition. On September 2, India and Pakistan will clash against each other in Pallekele.
