As per unconfirmed reports, Chelsea are ready to step in if Manchester United follow through with their plan to sack Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Blues are desperate to land a goal-scoring option after an inconsistent start to the season under manager, Graham Potter.
Chelsea owner, Ted Boehly is also rumoured to a big Ronaldo fan.
If United’s lawyers give the club the go-ahead to sack Ronaldo after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, he will become a free agent.
In that case, Ronaldo could move to Stamford Bridge, without a hitch.
United do not want Ronaldo to join a club they view as rivals for a top-four place and are facing a dilemma.
Sporting Lisbon were also hopeful of convincing Ronaldo to rejoin them – until they were dumped out of the Champions League.
