Man United to fine Ronaldo a million pounds

Looks like Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo is on his way out from Manchester United.

Two days ago, Ronaldo criticised club management and coaching staff in a scandalous interview with British TV journalist Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo said Manchester United have betrayed him.

Also, he has no respect for Dutch head coach Erik ten Haag because he does not respect him either.

The Portugal international has publicly slammed the state of Man Utd since his return, hitting out at a lack of progress made since Sir Alex Ferguson’s days at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is in a hurry to burn all his bridges with the Red Devils because he feels that they have damaged his prospects at the World Cup, by not giving him the requisite minutes.

In reply, Manchester United said that after reviewing all the facts mentioned in the interview, they will respond to Ronaldo.

According to reports, Ronaldo might be punished with a £1m fine, supposedly the equivalent of two weeks’ wages.

His contract runs until the end of this season but in all likelihood, Cristiano could be out by January.

In the current Premier League season, Ronaldo took part in 10 matches and scored 1 goal.

Manager Ten Hag will meet with Red Devils chiefs today to discuss the situation.

However, former United legend Rio Ferdinand and Ronaldo supporter mocked the fine.

“I’ve just seen by the way that they reckon Ronaldo has been fined £1million, that’s what they’re saying. But that’s two weeks’ wages.”

“You think that’s going to touch the sides? You think £1milllion is going to touch the sides with this guy? Come on man.”

Even Ferdinand feels that the love story between Ronaldo and Man United is as good as over.

“You can’t sit here and defend that from Cristiano Ronaldo.”, Ferdinand said.

“Deep down, I know for a fact, this has all been manufactured for one thing, and that’s for him to leave the club.”

“This love affair between Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United is now over.”

Well, that’s a sad end to love story that began under Sir Alex Ferguson.
