Hardik Pandya is all set to miss the T20I series against Afghanistan. The star All-rounder will not be in action against Afghanistan in the series which is set to take place in the upcoming month. It will be the first bilateral T20I series between India and Afghanistan. But Hardik will be absent to be a part of history, as he has not yet recovered from the injury.

Pandya sustained an ankle injury in the game against Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Indian cricketer was not at his full fitness for the remainder of the tournament. In fact, Hardik had to be carried out of the stadium as he could not even stand up from his position. The stretchers had to arrive to carry him out of the place, as Virat Kohli continued the remaining part of the over.

The scans suggested Hardik top have sustained a serious injury. While some reports claimed him to get fit by the game against England, other reports claimed him to take a lot of time to recover. The latter reports have not just been proven right but have been proven more than good. Hardik did not just miss the later part of the ODI WC 2023, but also missed many other games.

Not-so-good time for Hardik Pandya recently

Pandya was ruled out of the series against Australia and South Africa. Some reports claimed him to be doubtful even for the IPL 2024. For the cash rich league, Hardik was named the new leader of Mumbai Indians, after the 5-time champions got him in trade from Gujarat Titans. Following the move, MI have got huge outrage for replacing Rohit with Hardik.

Some fans of Rohit and MI burnt the jersey, flag, and cap of the side and showed their anger. Others unfollowed the official social media account of the franchise on X, Facebook, and Instagram. Hardik has not had a great time in the recent past and would have liked to change the things with his performances. But he might have to wait more for his comeback.
