Former Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is known as the modern-day greatest player in the world. His figures and records in all three formats of the game speak volumes of his talent. The right-handed batter will be back in action in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 which will be played in the ODI format and we all know how dominating Kohli is in the 50-over format.

Meanwhile, India’s veteran left-handed batter Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently running out of the Indian team, heaped praise on Kohli and said that he is the best batter in the world and included him in his all-time dream ODI XI. Many fans have reacted to it and appreciated Dhawan. The left-hander also lauded Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and said that he is a player of big tournaments.

“The first (picked) is Virat of course. He is the best batter in the world and has been scoring runs like crazy. Rohit is a very experienced customer. He has scored lots of runs in the major tournaments and bilateral (series) and he’s a proven player (on the big stage),” Dhawan was quoted as saying by India Today.

Dhawan is preparing for upcoming domestic leagues

Dhawan added 3 quality pacers Mitchell Starc, Shaheen Afridi and Kagiso Rabada in his dream ODI XI and included Afghanistan star spinner Rashikd Khan as the spin-bowling option. Talking about Dhawan, he is preparing for the upcoming domestic leagues and will hope to perform well in order to make his comeback to the team.

“I’ll go for Mitchell Starc as he is one of the best fast bowlers (in the world). The fourth player will be Rashid Khan with his mystery action. I am sure he’ll be very, very impactful (in India) and will take lots of wickets. Shaheen Afridi, I wouldn’t take because then there would be two left-arm pacers, so I’ll go for Rabada. Rabada has that extra pace and extra bounce that is going to rush the batters,” he added.
