Former India batter Gautam Gambhir is often heard criticising India’s arch-rivals Pakistan as he never leaves a chance to throw bombs on the Men in Green with his bitter words. Whether it’s on the field or off the field, Gambhir has always put up his strong opinion whenever a former Pakistan cricketer takes a dig at the Indian Cricket team.

Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events, Gambhir recently heaped praise on the Pakistan cricket team captain and star batter Babar Azam. Gambhir believes that Babar has all the quality in his batting to set the upcoming ODI World Cup on fire. He said that Babar has a different level of quality than the other top batters like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson and others.

“Babar Azam has that every quality that he can set this World Cup on fire. I have seen very few players who have a lot of time to bat. I believe that there is Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root and David Warner but Babar Azam has a different level of quality.” Gambhir was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Gambhir continued to praise Babar’s excellence and said that Babar has a vast variety of shots which makes him a different player from others. The important thing is to be noted that Babar is currently the no. 1 ranked batter in the ODI format and considering the upcoming major tournament, he can benefit the team a lot with his magnificent batting display.

“What makes Babar truly exceptional is his extensive repertoire of batting shots. He’s the only batsman in the world who possesses such a rich array of strokes. Babar Azam has an abundance of batting time, a quality not seen in many contemporary batters. His calm and composed demeanour allows him to accumulate runs steadily.” he added.
