Indian women’s cricket team faced off against Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI of the 3-match ODI series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday, July 22. The hosts displayed a brilliant performance throughout the series and managed to end the series in a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur talked about the series in the post-match conference and expressed her disappointment with multiple poor decisions from the umpires. She even said that they will prepare their mind before touring Bangladesh and that they will have to deal with the ‘pathetic’ umpiring.

“I think a lot of learning for us from the game. Even apart from the cricket, the kind of umpiring that was happening we were very surprised. The next time we come to Bangladesh we will make sure we have to deal with this type of umpiring and prepare ourselves accordingly.

They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted according to the situation. They were taking those singles which were very crucial. In between we leaked a few runs but we controlled the game very well when we were batting as I mentioned earlier some pathetic umpiring was done we are really disappointed about some decisions given by the umpires.” Harmanpreet was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

A brilliant all-round performance by Bangladesh

Talking about the match, Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss and amassed a total of 225 runs in the first innings. Thanks to Fargana Hoque’s magnificent century and Shamima Sultana’s half-century. Both also stitched a 93-run stand for the first wicket and helped the team to set a fighting total for the Indian team.

Chasing the target, India had a horrible start as they lost their first 2 wickets on the score of just 32 runs. But Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol took out the team from a troubling situation and stitched a 107-run stand for the 3rd wicket. But despite this, India couldn’t win the match and it ended up in a tie.
