Young Indian cricketer Riyan Parag might not have had a great Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season but his recent performance in domestic cricket has been phenomenal. He is smashing hundreds for fun and not only this, he has been quite impressive with the bat as well.

Meanwhile, after a great performance in the recently concluded Deodhar Trophy, Parag has slammed his haters and said that people have problems with everything he does. He said that even if he is chewing gum, celebrating, playing golf or video games, people will have problems with this also.

“People have a problem with me chewing gum. If my collar is up that’s a problem. I celebrate after taking a catch that’s a problem. They have a problem with my gaming and playing golf in my off time. I have an idea why people hate me. There is a rulebook about how you should play cricket. The T-shirt should be tucked in, the collar should be down, give respect to everyone, don’t sledge anyone, and I am completely the opposite.” Parag was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

People think I am not grateful: Riyan Parag

Parag was the highest run-scorer in the Deodhar Trophy 2023. He scored 354 runs in just 5 games of the league which includes 2 centuries and a magnificent 95-run knock in the final game against South Zone. He also took 11 wickets with the ball and was named Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance. However, he believes that his haters can’t digest that he is playing on such a big level so that’s why they troll him.

“I started playing cricket because it is fun and I am still playing cricket for the fun part. People can’t digest that I am playing on such a big level, and I am enjoying it. People think I am not grateful.” he added.
